The new LAUSD-LMU Middle School, which serves grades 6-8, on the campus of Westchester Enriched Science Magnets is now open and provides a continuation of STEM instructions programs from PVES.

Community Transportation

Navigating around Playa Vista is simple and easy. All you have to do is hop on the Playa Vista Daily Shuttle, which offers plenty of stops throughout the community such as The Resort and Runway. The clean, fuel-free Playa Vista Daily Shuttle and Beach Shuttles run all year and take riders around Playa Vista and to other hot destinations. The shuttles have run since 2005 and have made it easier for residents to leave their cars at home, reducing their impact on the environment.

In addition to the Daily Shuttle, there is also a Beach Shuttle that runs every Friday through Sunday. You can take this shuttle from Playa Vista to areas such as Venice Pier, Fisherman’s Village and Mother’s Beach.

Playa Vista’s Dedication to the Environment

Playa Vista designed and built a 51-acre Freshwater Wetlands system that consists of a 250acre Riparian Corridor and a 26-acre Freshwater March to naturally treat storm water before it enters the Ballona Weltands and the Santa Monica Bay. The system collects the storm water runoff from 442 acres of upstream portions of Playa Vista along with 614 acres off-site within the watershed. The system mimics natural filtering techniques. Plant materials in the system help to slow the water flow and act as a sponge by catching sediments attached to any pollutants. This system is one of the most significant and successful natural storm water treatments ever created in an urban area in the nation.
